The Church of the Advent’s Centenary Celebration began in November 2010
Join our bible study group following the 10 a.m. Eucharist service at the church of the Advent.
Outreach skills is a Saturday morning community workshop to share and learn new skills from each other. New Leaders always welcome!! If you have a talent or skill/expertise such as cooking, computers, knitting, etc that you would like to teach others email us at: advent.toronto@gmail.com
Our Centenary Prayer:
Great is your faithfulness, O God our Father, and great is our joy at this time as we anticipate the contrary of this parish, established to show forth your glory and dedicated to your Advent. We thank you for the witness it has maintained down the years as a centre of Christian witness and worship, teaching and service. We thank you for all who have loyally serviced it as laity and clergy. We thank you for the continuance of its life and work at the present time. Accept these our thanksgivings, O God; multiply your blessings upon us today; and lead us forward in the power of your Spirit to fresh ventures of faith in the days to come, through Jesus Christ our Lord who lives and reigns with you in the unit of the Holy Spirit one God now and forever. AMEN

Fellowship, Fitness & Fundraising campaign ended with our annual walk-a-thon around the parish boundaries on September 11th, 2010 with eight walkers. Thank you to everyone who accepted our challenge of 100 minutes per week and supported this year’s campaign.

L'Arche Toronto will be coming St. Mark & Calvary to do a short performance and reflection for the service.
The performance will be based on the Beatitudes. Please be sure to welcome this special troupe.

SATURDAY DEC 4 starting at 3pm at St. Mark & Calvary
Victorian Tea. A perennial favourite, featuring that very special someone.
Tickets Adults $10; Youth (under age 16) $8. Don’t forget to wear your Victorian hat!
SUNDAY DEC 5, 11:30am at St. Mark & Calvary
String orchestra and musicians return to add something special to our worship and praise.
SUNDAY DEC. 12, 11:30am at St. Mark & Calvary
Professional singers will offer lessons and carols for the season of Advent and Christmas.

Annual Fall Bazaar – October 30, 2010; 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Vacation Bible School – The 8 week Vacation Bible School, with the theme the Fruits of the Spirit is now successfully completed. The parish welcomed a combination of 26 young people to learn about the fruits of the spirit as described in the Galatians 5 verse 22 ending with a fantastic presentation on August 29th. A special thank you to Constance Kendal, Leila Francis, Tameka Francis, Barbara Franklin, Carol, Lewis, Clair Middleton, Joyce McKenzie and Cindy Patrick and all the parents, students and supporters for making this program such a success.
